About Me

I am an Explorer Scout and Beaver Young Leader from Gloucestershire in the UK, and have been involved in Scouting since I was a Beaver myself.

In 2017 I passed the selection process to be part of the UK Contingent to go the 24th World Scout Jamboree. I originally created this blog while I was waiting to find out if I had been selected so that I could share that journey with others.

On the selection weekend I was given the number “84” and so I used that for this blog and to keep my “Scouting” social media accounts separate from my personal ones.

Since I started this blog I have also applied, and been selected, to attendee the next European Jamboree being held in Poland in 2020. However, due to the postponement of Covid-19, I was now too old to participate.

I have also been offered a place on the 16th World Scout Moot held in 2022 which was also cancelled due to the pandemic.

Currently, I am at University in Birmingham studying Mathematics and Computer Science. I am still volunteering weekly at both Beavers and Scouts as well as being in my Universities SSAGO Society called BUSAG. Now I am the current Chair of BUSAG after being Publicity Officer last year.

I am also attending the Roverway next Summer in Norway as a Patrol Leader.

I intend to continue to use this blog to post about my Scouting adventures along with stories from my day to day life. I hope you enjoy getting to know me – 84
